Cute Book "Gadgets"

Found some cute Gadgets/Fun Book related items.

******************************************************

First thing is this cute Book Club Member Ornament.

This cute book end, i can picture a silhouette of a tree on the other side

this is too clever. Such a neat idea and I'm sure would look great on a coffee table

It kinda looks like a jar of peanut butter, but i beat it smells great. I love the smell of Books!

I feel like i need one of these. I'm always loaning my books and forgetting who has them.

I could use a few of these. You can write your thoughts or just things you may feel are important on them. I think they would help with those pesky back and forth stories, that way you would lose track of details or even names for that matter.

Last but not least,
This bookmark. I love the Wizard of Oz and the Nostalgic feeling I get from seeing the legs of the Wicked Witch.

Harry Potter!

I know we all have a love for Harry Potter. I saw this at Books-a-million when it had come out and really wanted to buy it for my collection.

Its an Illustrated version of Sorcerers Stone.  ^_^

I love the style of artwork and the feeling it gives me. Seeing certain scenes and buildings put in to perspective while reading it makes it easier to get sucked in to the story. I think having this at this point in time will help kids of today be able to pick it up and read the story we all grew up with. Kids of today need this in there lives.

Here's an article i found about the illustrator, its a bit lengthy but found it interesting on what her thoughts were while doing the project.

Books of the Year

Books through the Year.

We have had a wide range of books this year and hopefully we can continue to read different styles, genres, and eras.

Here's a list of all the books we have Bought, Attempted and Finished.

February: The Night Manager. By: Jonh Le Carre'

This choice was more difficult than any of us had expected. for those few of you who had finished it. I salute you!

March: The Ninth Life of Louis Drax. By: Liz Jensen

Most of the Group seemed to really enjoy this choice. It seemed to have taken everyone on a different psychological journey.

April: Still Alice. By: Lisa Genova

This one..... well it had gotten great reviews from everyone. I know only a few had actually read it and a few had seen the film. It was an "easy" read but not and EASY read. Somethings are harder to read when it deals with real life topics.

May: The Girl on the Train. By: Paula Hawkins

I believe this is the first book the majority of the group couldn't put down. The mystery and thrill of figuring out what Rachael was up to. I know now everyone is more excited because it is soon to be a Feature Film!

June: A Walk in the Woods. By: Bill Bryson

Such a fun read. Reading about a persons journeys along the Appalachian Trail is always a treat, especially one so goofy and entertaining. I know after reading this made us all want to do this journey or one like it ourselves.

July: The Horrors of Oakendale Abbey. By: Mrs.Carver.

This one was defiantly interesting on a count that it was a romance. I mean who wants a man to stick you in a Haunted Abbey for a week? I enjoyed this as a our classic because it wasn't the classic i was expecting,

August: At The Waters Edge. By: Sara Gruen.

I believe this was an overall favorite with us all. It had it all...Tragedy, Romance, Mystery, a bit of Comedy and the Loch Ness Monster, I mean who can go wrong there,

September: Yes, Please. By: Amy Poehler.

This was our autobiography and i know we had picked it because we Love Amy Poehler as an actress and a Comedian. The way Amy had attempted this Autobiography was a bit off, Unfortunately it made some of us feel very different about her; as a person after reading this selection. Hopefully our next autobiography or memoir will change our attitude towards them.

October: The Shining Girls. By: Lauren Beukes,

Book Club Blog?

Hey there everyone!

Its Emily.

I would like to make a Book Club Blog.

I know everyone has different social medias that they prefer to view. I have recently deactivated my Facebook for personal reasons. I know we all have emails but how often do we all check them?
We do have the Chapter Chat Books Instagram, the thing with that is i don't like filling everyone's feed with things they may or may not want to see all the time. (I know i get tired of some of my accounts i follow.)

If I put my time in this Blog I would try to post on it at least 2-3 times a week with Our book club news and other Book related information....New releases, certain Author updates, fun facts and so on.

We can try it for a bit and see if anyone likes it and prefers to get information this way.

I know that this would be something I would be doing in my personal time but I think it could be fun to do something like this, i have always wanted to start a blog but never had a theme or reason to have one.

Please let me know if this may be something you would enjoy and would like me to continue.

I'm going to do a few sampler posts and get a start on this.

Thanks!

- Emily
